I enjoyed this article immensely and it brought back the memory of a zip-up binder to hold everything that I used to have for school. One Christmas my brother bought me a new zip-up binder with two new Nancy Drew mysteries inside. It was the most exciting and wonderful present I ever received.

Great memories. I remember when the HP calculator came out, I was still in elementary school and didn't have the faintest idea of what you would do with one. My dad worked for Hewlett-Packard (in a different division) and was super excited, and took us with him to the store to buy one, and of course they were insanely expensive, and then he showed us all the tricks, which were lost on me and, no doubt, my younger sister. The store, interestingly enough, was not any kind of computer or electronics store, which I guess didn't exist back then (apart from TVs and stereos of course). It was a fancy game and gift store for grownups that sold upscale chess sets, doll furniture, puzzles, "executive gifts" such as art/sculpture/games like glass balls on plastic strings that knock together, and (less upscale) pipe cleaners and jumping beans.
